Police Foiled Marijuana Trafficking

Based on public report, there are Junior High School (SMP) students collecting money to buy marijuana

The ranks of South Jakarta Metro Resort Police successfully foiled the trafficking of marijuana weighing 200 kilograms which often consumed by students or college students.

"Based on public report, there are Junior High School (SMP) students collecting money to buy marijuana. Then we investigate it," said Vice Chief of South Jakarta Metro Resort Police, AKBP Surawan, Monday (4/27). 

36 Kg of Marijuana & 29 Firearms Destroyed

According to him, the police immediately did investigation and hunting until Sukmajaya area, Depok. In the area, they managed to confiscate 200 kilograms of marijuana ready to be distributed. 

Besides confiscating the marijuana from Nangroeh Aceh Darussalam, he continued, the police also rounded up 4 dealers with initials J (35), S a.k.a N (30), DKI (35), and MI (30). 

"These dealers are the old perpetrators, had been operating for 3 years," he explained. 

One of the perpetrators claimed, the marijuana was usually sold by Rp 1.3 million per kilogram. Thus the total of marijuana confiscated is more than Rp 250 million. 

Those perpetrators will be sentenced to article 115 (2) Sub 114 (2) Sub 111 (2) junto 132 (1) Law No. 35/2009 on Narcotics Handling with threats maximum punishment of life imprisonment.
